What Peakwave Mastering Can Do for Your Music

As musicians and artists, we strive to create and connect with others through our craft; putting our hearts, minds and experiences into our music.  To reach a listener though, our music ultimately becomes sound waves traveling through the air, regardless of which medium a listener chooses.  This interplay of physics and art is amazing when you think about it - that you can emotionally connect with another human (or millions of them) that way.  This is why mastering is vitally important - while we can’t control a listener’s physical environment, we can ensure a level of consistency across playback systems so our music translates as beautifully as possible to others.

What You Can Expect

My mastering approach culminates from many years working in all aspects of music performance & production.

I’ve been on all sides of audio production for the past 30 years, as a performer, producer, composer, recording/mix and mastering engineer. I know the hard work and commitment that goes into creating music before it ever reaches a listener - and I keep this in mind with every project I work on. As a producer, I recall countless late nights working to create the perfect mix, just to wake up the next morning and feel like it’s still “almost there”…

My goal is to close the gap between “almost there” and something you are proud to release into the world.

Over the past few years, I’ve focused solely on mastering. I’ve developed some novel mastering techniques that help retain clarity, warmth and punch, while reaching commercial levels and still sounding dynamic on streaming platforms. When we work together, you can expect a commitment to excellence, open communication and putting forth the best music possible.

I look forward to discussing your project. Contact me below to request a free test master and rates.

Mark came highly recommended for my mastering project, and he hit it out of the park. Both the digital masters and the vinyl masters sound amazing, and are distinct in their adaptation to the medium. I also really appreciated Mark's communication and professionalism; I had a pretty tight deadline and he worked with me to get everything submitted on time. Great price, great quality, great service--couldn't really ask for more!

I've worked with Mark on a couple of albums, an EP and some movie and TV pieces and they all came out sounding incredible!  He has an amazing ear and knows his art.

Mark knows how to make recordings shine.

"I perform, track, produce and mix for a living and Mark to takes my mixes to the next level. I have known Mark as a musician, producer and mixer for years.  He has gone to the end of the earth to find the best signal channels for all of his gear.  When he said he was focusing exclusively on mastering I said "sign me up."  He shares that same passion for making each master the best he can comparing different signal chains etc.  Mark is not just turning knobs but personally involved with the feeling of each project.
